Seminar Six: SPAM: "It's not just for breakfast anymore!"

No matter how you define SPAM, “junk” email is overtaking many of our inboxes. What is SPAM? What can UCLA do centrally to help manage this drain on University resources? And more importantly, what can you do personally to “stop the madness”?? The “BruinTech” Seminar Series is offering a timely presentation and Q&A panel to answer these questions and more on Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Anderson School’s Korn Hall; refreshments will be served at a reception immediately following. This event is open to staff, faculty, and students.

  • Speakers:
    • Kent Wada, UCLA IT Security & Policy Co-ordinator - What is SPAM at the University; What are the issues in relation to the Electronic Communications Policy, academic freedom, and avoiding a hostile workplace
    • Eddie Urenda, Bruin Online Help Desk Supervisor, CTS - What Bruin Online can do at a campus level and how decisions are made about what to do.
