Daylight Savings Time: Resources to Correct your Online Calendar |

Daylight Savings Time will begin three weeks earlier than usual this year on March 11, and end one week later than usual on Nov. 4. The change in Daylight Savings Time may have a negative impact on computing operating systems and some software applications, including those that are related to calendaring, financial and security functions. UCLA is making available several patches, fixes and resources to help mitigate the impact of the altered Daylight Savings Time. For available patches and fixes, please see the list below. Affected applications and systems that are not updated to accommodate the change in Daylight Savings Time will operate one hour behind time from the period of March 11 to April 1. The DST change has the potential to impact anyone using an electronic calendaring system, whether they’re using a desktop computer or a PDA. Suggested user actions to take during this time are:
Patches, Fixes and Other Resources for DepartmentsUCLA has an agreement for PatchLink patch management products that may be helpful. The Patchlink website lists the available 2007 patches. Microsoft is also providing DST and related patch information. The DST 2007 Hotfix for Windows2K is available to all campus departments at no charge from Software Central. (Microsoft no longer provides mainstream support for Windows2K.) The UCLA Enterprise Messaging team is aware of the DST 2007 issues and is working to ensure that the appropriate patches are applied throughout the EM system.
